Lavina Harless, MSW, LCSW has a diverse work experience in the field of social work. Starting in 1999, Lavina worked as a Social Worker for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, before transitioning to a role as a Residential Social Worker at Childhelp in 2000. After three years, Lavina became the Clinical Director at Childhelp. In 2005, Lavina joined the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) as a Board Services Coordinator, and then transitioned to the role of Examination Development Coordinator in 2007. In this role, Lavina was responsible for overseeing examination question development, managing item writers, and coordinating examination committee meetings. Lavina continued to progress within ASWB and became the Examination Development Director in 2013. In this role, they expanded the examination development program, increased program quality, and established processes for test development. Currently, Lavina serves as the Senior Director of Examination Services at ASWB, overseeing the examination administration, management of the association, and continuous improvement efforts.
Lavina Harless holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Radford University, which they obtained from 1998 to 2000. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree at Radford University from 1996 to 1998. Lavina also holds additional certifications, including being a Human Services Management Certificant Holder from the University of Maryland since 2005. Lavina is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, licensed by the Virginia Board of Social Work since 2002.
