Laura Hochban

Laura Hochban, CPA, has extensive experience in accounting and financial reporting, currently serving as VP Housing & Reinsurance Controller at Assurant since April 2007, with previous roles including VP, Reinsurance & Statutory Controller, and VP, Investment Accounting and Statutory Reporting. Responsibilities at Assurant encompass overseeing investment reporting for GAAP and Statutory standards, consulting on financial statements for new vendors, and aiding in the structuring of investment transactions. Prior to Assurant, Laura held positions such as Fixed Income Accounting Manager at Travelers, where management of statutory and GAAP accounting for fixed income portfolios was key, and Senior Accountant at Regis Corporation. Laura began a career at KPMG US, focused on auditing hedge funds and insurance companies. Education was completed at the University of St. Thomas with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting.
