Shady Elbassiouny has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Shady is currently working as a Principal Engineer - Product Engineering at Astera Labs. Shady further continued their education at The University of British Columbia from 2016 to 2019, completing their Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Shady has also acquired several certifications. In November 2021, they obtained the Leading Teams certification from Microchip Technology Inc. In July 2021, they completed the V93000 ST7 RDI Digital User Training at Advantest. Furthermore, in February 2021, Shady attained the Occupational First Aid - Level 1 certification from WorkSafeBC.
