Shady Elbassiouny

Shady Elbassiouny has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Shady is currently working as a Principal Engineer - Product Engineering at Astera Labs. Prior to this, Shady held the position of Senior Product Engineer II and I at Microchip Technology Inc. In these roles, they played a crucial role in ensuring the quality and profitability of Microchip's ICs by analyzing hardware requirements, creating test plans, and executing characterizations.

Before joining Microchip, Shady worked as a Senior NFV Solution Engineer at AvidBeam Technologies and as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the American University in Cairo. Shady also gained research and development experience as a Research and Development Engineer - IOT at Orange.

Shady's early career involved internships at Vodafone Egypt and Valeo, as well as a trainee position at Intel Corporation. Their role as a Research Engineer at the Center of Wireless Studies (CWS) further contributed to their expertise in wireless technologies.

Shady Elbassiouny completed their education in a chronological order as follows. Shady attended Manara Language School from 2005 to 2007 and obtained an IGCSE degree. Shady then enrolled at Cairo University from 2007 to 2012, where they earned their Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Afterward, from 2013 to 2015, Shady pursued their MSc. in Electronics engineering at The American University in Cairo. Shady further continued their education at The University of British Columbia from 2016 to 2019, completing their Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Shady has also acquired several certifications. In November 2021, they obtained the Leading Teams certification from Microchip Technology Inc. In July 2021, they completed the V93000 ST7 RDI Digital User Training at Advantest. Furthermore, in February 2021, Shady attained the Occupational First Aid - Level 1 certification from WorkSafeBC.
