Senior Principal Firmware Engineer at Astera Labs

Yashveer Singh has a diverse work experience in the field of firmware engineering, with a focus on storage solutions. Yashveer is currently working as a Senior Principal Firmware Engineer at Astera Labs since August 2022. Prior to this, Yashveer worked at Microchip Technology Inc. from March 2019 to August 2022, where they held the position of Technical Staff Engineer-Firmware. In this role, they worked on the design and development of MIPS based shared modules supporting multiple products, collaborating closely with the hardware team and mentoring in other areas of SDK development.

Before Microchip, Yashveer worked at PMC-Sierra as a Tech Lead - Firmware Development from October 2013 to March 2019. Yashveer contributed to the implementation of PCIe Config Space, Baseline Error detection and logging, and PCIe AER capability for a PCIe 3.1 Switch. Prior to this, Yashveer worked at iGATE as a Technical Lead from May 2010 to September 2013. Here, they collaborated with leading storage-domain companies on projects such as SAS ASIC Validation, SAS Switch Firmware development, and PCIe SSD cards and HBAs management application development.

Yashveer started their career at Mettler-Toledo as a Software Engineer - Product Development from October 2005 to April 2010. Throughout their career, Yashveer has gained extensive experience in ATA and SCSI standards, proving their expertise in the firmware engineering field.

Yashveer Singh completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Vidyalankar Institute Of Technology from 2001 to 2005. In addition to their formal education, they acquired additional certifications in Quantum Computing Fundamentals from MIT xPRO in March 2021, and An Introduction to Quantum Computing (CS 66 W) from Stanford Continuing Studies in March 2020.
