Zulema C. possesses extensive experience in public health and community engagement. Currently serving as Support Center Manager at the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America since June 2022, Zulema previously worked as a Community Outreach, Engagement & Equity Specialist at Moffitt Cancer Center, focusing on addressing cancer needs in the community. Earlier roles include Program Manager at the Hispanic Services Council, where Zulema managed health programs and supervised community health workers, as well as an intern at the same organization. Additional experience includes positions at Special Olympics Florida, Capstone Real Estate Investments, and Kent State University, where Zulema held various roles including research assistant and student organization president. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), a not-for-profit organization founded in 1953, is the leading patient organization for people with asthma and allergies, and the oldest asthma and allergy patient group in the world. MISSION STATEMENT: AAFA is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with asthma and allergic diseases through education, advocacy and research. AAFA provides practical information, community based services and support to people through a network of Regional Chapters, Support Groups and other Local Partners around the U.S. AAFA develops health education, organizes state and national advocacy efforts and funds research to find better treatments and cures.
