Waqar Ahmad has been in the IT industry since 2006. Waqar began their career as a Software Engineer at Catalist LLC, where they designed and wrote Java-based applications with backend Oracle databases. Waqar then moved to Andrew Christopher Consulting in 2008, where they led a midsize team of software engineers, business analysts, and quality assurance engineers. Waqar designed and maintained enterprise systems, maintained and deployed content, and improved internal processes. In 2010, Waqar moved to OPOWER as a Professional Services Engineer and led SaaS implementation projects. Waqar then moved to CGI Federal in 2012, where they led multiple agile, product development, and operations teams working on high-impact, enterprise web applications. Waqar served as the agile coach and leader and mentored team members on Agile best practices. In 2014, Waqar joined Astor & Sanders Corporation as a Sr. Technical Program Manager, where they managed the development, delivery, and operations of enterprise technology programs. Waqar also led agile, cross-functional project teams working on enterprise web applications and provided day-to-day management of team leads across product development, operations, business analysis, quality assurance, and deployment.

Waqar Ahmad's education history includes a Master's degree in Computer Science from The George Washington University between 2004 and 2006, and prior to that, they attended Beaconhouse. Waqar has also obtained several certifications, including Machine Learning Foundations: A Case Study Approach from Coursera in September 2020, Artificial Intelligence For Everyone from Coursera in October 2019, Certified SAFe 4 Program Consultant from Scaled Agile, Inc. in May 2019, Certified SAFe 5 Program Consultant from Scaled Agile, Inc. in January 2021, and Certified Scrum Master (CSM) from Scrum Alliance.
