Kagan Topalli

Kagan Topalli, PhD, is an accomplished RF and antenna engineer with extensive experience in telemetry hardware and antenna systems for space applications. Currently serving as the RF/Antenna Technical Lead at Astra since March 2022, Kagan oversees telemetry hardware in S- and L-band and conducts ground station evaluations. Previously, Kagan held roles at Astranis, including Senior Staff Antenna Engineer, where responsibilities encompassed parabolic reflector design, the integration of antenna systems into spacecraft, and collaborating with vendors and engineers on complex projects. Kagan's expertise also spans EMI/EMC consulting as Chief Research Scientist at TUBITAK UZAY, teaching as an Assistant Professor at several universities, and conducting postdoctoral research at The Ohio State University focused on THz antennas. Kagan holds a Ph.D. in RF MEMS and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University.
