Avijit Majumdar

Avijit Majumdar currently serves as the Associate Director and Translational Science Lead at AstraZeneca, focusing on fibrosis and inflammation in clinical stage programs. Previously, Avijit held the position of Research Scientist III at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, where responsibility included developing biomarker strategies for clinical trials. Academic experience includes serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duquesne University, developing a graduate-level course in Bioanalytical Chemistry. Avijit has also been a Senior Scientist and Team Lead at Krystal Biotech, leading pre-IND/IND enabling studies, and worked as a Scientist at Intrexon Corporation, validating therapeutic candidates in vitro and in preclinical models. Educational credentials include a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center and a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from Kent State University.
