Karen Sutherland

Karen Sutherland is the current VP HR Operations & Solutions at AstraZeneca. Prior to their current position, Karen was the Manager, HR Europe & Africa at ConocoPhillips from January 1998 to August 2007. In this role, they served on the Board of Directors for ConocoPhillips Norway and associated companies. From January 1992 to December 1997, Karen was the HR Manager at GlaxoSmithKline where they were responsible for day-to-day HR generalist support. Prior to GlaxoSmithKline, Karen was an Employee Relations Officer at Ford Motor Company from January 1989 to December 1992.

Karen Sutherland completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Aberdeen before going on to complete a PhD in Psychology at Robert Gordon University.

They are on a team with Derick Khoo - HR Director, Asia Area, Indira Hector - Regional HR Director, Americas Supply, and Feyza Aysan - HR Director. Karen Sutherland reports to Manisha Singh, Vice President People Analytics, Digital, Employee Experiences & HR Operations.
