John Ruesch

John Ruesch is an experienced pharmaceutical professional currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Tech Operations at Astria Therapeutics, Inc. since July 2023. Prior to this role, John was the Vice President of Pharmaceutical Development at Surface Oncology Inc. from December 2021 to August 2023. John spent over six years at Biogen, where responsibilities included leading drug substance and drug product development for protein-based therapeutics, and strategic oversight of the Protein Development Organization. John also held senior roles at Pfizer and Abbott Laboratories, with expertise in formulation development, regulatory compliance, and analytical research. Education includes an MBA in Finance and General Management from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a BS in Biology from Valparaiso University.
