They started their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Princeton University, where they worked on a research project focused on plasma flow control on helicopter rotors. They also served as an Engineering Intern at NASA Langley Research Center, gaining valuable industry experience.

In 2019, Nikita joined Rutgers University as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, where they designed a robust control system for UAVs and tested it in a flight simulation.
