Simulation Research Software Engineer at Astrobotic Technology

Tyler Stephans has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Tyler started their career at Pratt & Whitney as an Aero Thermo Systems Intern, where they performed thermal analyses and worked on core engine compartments. Tyler then worked as an Associate Engineer in AeroThermFluid, focusing on commercial turbofan engines. At Penn State University, Tyler worked as a Teaching Assistant, helping students with engineering design principles and strategies. Tyler also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant, where they supported research on using robots for construction material staging and conducted autonomous construction research on Mars. Currently, Tyler is a Simulation Research Software Engineer at Astrobotic, where they develop and analyzes lunar surface maps for terrain relative navigation.

Tyler Stephans has a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University, which they obtained from 2014 to 2018. Tyler then pursued a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the same university, completing it from 2019 to 2022.
