Farouk Bonilla, Ph.D. has a diverse range of work experience. Farouk began their career as an Imaging Scientist at Kodak in 2000 and later worked at Xerox as a Senior Engineer in Systems Applications Software and Color Science from 2005 to 2011. Farouk then joined GE HealthCare, where they held various roles including Image Quality Systems Engineer, Install-Base Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer, and Lead Systems Designer from 2012 to 2022. Currently, they are working as a Principal Systems Engineer at Astronautics Corporation of America since 2023. Additionally, they have also served as a Faculty Member and the Director of Electrical and Electronics Labs at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez from 1997 to 1999.
Farouk Bonilla, Ph.D. has a diverse education history in engineering and applied sciences. Farouk holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Systems Engineering from The George Washington University - School of Engineering & Applied Science. Farouk also has a Certificate in Systems Engineering (CSEP) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
In addition to their doctoral and certification qualifications, Bonilla has a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Imaging Science with a focus on Color Science from Rochester Institute of Technology. Farouk also holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Image & Signal Processing from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez.
Bonilla's undergraduate studies were completed at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Digital Communications and Signal Processing.
Apart from their academic achievements, Bonilla has obtained several certifications related to architecture, model-based systems engineering, reliability, and design for lean six sigma. These certifications enhance their expertise and demonstrate their commitment to professional development.
