Sustaining Products Engineering Manager at Astronautics

Shawn Williams has extensive experience in test engineering and software development. Shawn started their career in 2003 as a Contract Test Engineer at Smiths Aerospace, where they developed test software for a General Purpose Processor Circuit Board. Shawn then worked as a Contract Test Engineer at Benchmark Electronics, Inc., Racal Instruments, Goodrich, and Motorola, where they developed various test systems and application software using LabVIEW and TestStand.

In 2007, Shawn joined Astronautics Corporation of America as a Contract Software Engineer, and then transitioned to a Software Engineer role. Shawn developed test software for avionics equipment, including flight control circuit boards and flight control products. Shawn also worked as a Test Systems Engineer, responsible for developing test solutions for avionics equipment.

In 2013, Shawn worked as a Contract Test Engineer at Rockwell Automation, where they converted test software and implemented memory and HIPOT testing. From 2015 to 2016, they served as a Contract Test Design Engineer at Plexus Corp., designing a test fixture and using Cadence for schematic development.

From 2016 to 2017, Shawn worked as a Lead Test Engineer at Fastek International, leading a Test Equipment/Software department and collaborating with customers for requirements gathering and project proposal development.

Currently, Shawn serves as the Sustaining Products Engineering Manager at Astronautics Corporation of America. Shawn leads a team responsible for sustaining products and test equipment and has developed resource and project metrics for department engagement in product development.

Throughout their career, Shawn has demonstrated strong technical skills in test engineering, software development, and project management.

Shawn Williams completed their education in a chronological progression. Shawn attended Woodland Hills High School from 1988 to 1991. After graduating from high school, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Penn State University from 1991 to 1996. Continuing their academic journey, they then obtained a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh from 1998 to 2003.
