Fred Zhang

Fred Zhang has extensive work experience in the fields of software engineering, data science, and statistical consulting.

Fred currently works as a Principal Software Engineer at Astronomer, a position they started in September 2021.

Prior to that, they were employed at Splunk from 2015 to 2021, holding the role of Principal Data Scientist/ML engineer from May 2018 to September 2021 and Senior Data Scientist/ML engineer from June 2015 to May 2018.

Before joining Splunk, Fred worked as a Statistical Consultant at The Short Term Consulting Service (STCS) of Stat Dept, UBC from May 2011 to September 2016. Fred Zhang further continued their education at The University of British Columbia, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Statistics from 2012 to 2017.
