Kevin Paulisse has had an extensive and diverse work experience spanning over several years. Kevin started off as a Linux and Unix System Administrator at TDS Telecom in 2005, where they administered over 200 Solaris and Linux systems and implemented automated build architectures. From 2006 to 2007, they served as a Storage and Backup Administrator for the State of Wisconsin, implementing process improvements and reducing backup time.
In 2007, Kevin joined Philips Healthcare as a System Design Engineer, where they designed and developed the SmartEnterprise platform for running radiation treatment planning software in data centers, a first in the industry. Kevin then worked at Shopbop as a DevOps Engineer and Software Development Engineer, automating processes and creating network integration with parent company Amazon.
Kevin later moved to Collective, where they worked as a DevOps Engineer and Manager of System Operations, building ad-tech infrastructure and managing a team of engineers. At GitHub, they had dual roles as a Security Engineer and Site Reliability Engineer, automating security processes and provisioning and managing thousands of systems.
Kevin joined Salesforce in 2015 as a System Engineer, where they contributed to the migration of the Salesforce IoT cloud to AWS and Heroku. Kevin then became a Principal Member of Technical Staff, enabling Salesforce's migration to the public cloud and building a distributed system to manage resources across multiple cloud providers.
Kevin then joined Stripe as a Staff Software Engineer, leading a cross-functional initiative to migrate critical systems to Graviton architecture. In their most recent role as a Principal Software Engineer at Astronomer, they have split their time between software development, infrastructure engineering, security engineering, and operational excellence. Kevin has also built on-call and incident management processes for the organization.
Kevin Paulisse earned their BS degree in Mathematics and Chemistry from Hope College, which they attended from 1995 to 1999.
