Nelson Zhu

Nelson Zhu is currently serving as an Engineering Assistant at the University of California, Davis - College of Engineering, contributing to the ESDC development team while managing schedules and acting as a liaison between competition teams and project staff. In addition, Nelson holds a role as a Payroll Assistant at ASUCD Unitrans, where responsibilities include processing payroll and maintaining employee records. As a Suspension Team Member for Formula Racing at UC Davis, work involves designing vehicle components using Solidworks and hands-on manufacturing tasks. Prior experience includes an internship at GoPro focused on CAD design and mechanical engineering projects, research on balloon ascent dynamics for Space and Satellite Systems, and teaching environmental topics with Sprout Up. Nelson holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Science and Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
