Dionisio Acosta-Mena

Dionisio joined atai Life Sciences in 2022. Previously, Dr. Acosta-Mena was Senior Data Scientist at Cegedim Rx, where he led the design and implementation of data science methods (ML and statistical) for data-driven clinical trial enrichment, clinical pathway optimization, disease staging, outcome ascertainment, and data quality control for supporting public health, epidemiological and clinical research using routinely collected electronic health records data from The Health Improvement Network dataset (THIN).

Prior to that, he was a Senior Research Associate at University College London. His research looked into the implementation of methods for identifying data-driven phenotypes for supporting drug discovery, diagnosis, and treatment selection using electronic health records, imaging, metabolic, proteomic, and wearables activity data. He also directed the Health Informatics graduate program, where he was the lead for Machine Learning in Healthcare and Biomedicine, Decision Support Systems, and Standards and Interoperability modules.
