Jorge Alvarez

Jorge Alvarez has an extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Jorge started their career at Baxter in 1999, where they held various roles until 2003. In 2000, they worked as a Quality Analyst/Quality Specialist in Microbiology at Baxter BioScience. Alvarez then joined Amgen in 2003 and worked their way up to Director positions in Global Supplier Quality Management and Global Product Quality Surveillance. Jorge also held managerial and supervisory positions in quality assurance and logistics at Amgen. In 2018, Alvarez joined Atara Biotherapeutics as the Senior Director of Quality Systems and Compliance, then became the Head of Quality Operations and later the Vice President of Quality. Their experience spans over 20 years and showcases their expertise in quality management and compliance in the biopharmaceutical industry.

Jorge Alvarez earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology & Society from Cornell University in 1999. Jorge later pursued a Master of Business Administration degree in Leadership and Managing Organization Change from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School, completing it in 2010.
