Michael Prieto

Michael Prieto, CFA, serves as the Director of Financial Risk Management at ATB Financial since November 2019, specializing in the oversight of market and liquidity risks within both trading and banking books, as well as counterparty credit risk. Prior to this role, Michael held positions including Market and Liquidity Risk Manager at the Alberta Securities Commission and Proprietary Trader at a previous firm. His extensive experience at Bank of America Merrill Lynch included roles such as Assistant Vice President for Counterparty Credit Risk and participation in a rotational leadership development program. Michael's career began with summer analyst positions at UBS Global Asset Management and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, focusing on OTC derivatives trade support. Michael earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Statistics from the University of Illinois Chicago.
