Nico Kienzl serves as the Director at Atelier Ten since July 2002, leading the global energy analysis practice and consulting on large-scale residential, commercial, and institutional projects across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, with expertise in advanced building analysis for facade optimization, daylight and shading analysis, and building systems optimization. Academic experience includes roles as a Visiting Lecturer at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation from January 2009 to February 2018, a Visiting Instructor at Harvard Graduate School of Design in October 2010, and a Visiting Instructor at Pratt Institute from September 2002 to May 2009, covering essential environmental systems and building systems integration courses in the Master of Architecture programs. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Design from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, a Master's degree in Architecture/Building Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Diploma in Architecture from the Technical University of Munich.
