Thomas Guionnet is a seasoned research engineer specializing in video processing, with a career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as a Fellow Research Engineer at ATEME since February 2015, Thomas focuses on video compression, image and video processing, quality assessment, artificial intelligence, and deep learning within the Research & Innovation team. Prior experience includes roles as a Codec Expert Engineer at Envivio, emphasizing HEVC and engaging in technology research and algorithm development for H.264/AVC and AVS formats. Thomas contributed to standardization efforts for HEVC and MPEG-3DV at INRIA and played a key role in JPEG2000 standardization with IRISA. Thomas holds a PhD in Computer Science from IRISA and degrees in Digital Imaging and Communication, as well as BSc Computing Science and Software Engineering from Newcastle Upon Tyne University.
