Bret Connor is SVP, Chief Customer Officer at athenahealth. Bret previously served as VP, Professional Services at VMware from September 2010 to July 2017. In this role, Bret led the Professional Services Organization for the Americas (US, Canada, and Latin America), a $300M annual revenue business. Bret was responsible for the sales ($400M in annual bookings), revenue ($300M), and operating margin for the organization. Bret and their team were recognized by the Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA) with the 2016 STAR award for Innovation in Driving Customer Outcomes through Professional Services.

Prior to joining VMware, Bret was an Associate at Goldman Sachs from June 2005 to August 2005 and an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company from September 2006 to August 2010.

Bret Connor graduated with a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago and then went on to earn their MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Harvard Business School.

Their manager is Bob Segert, Chairman & CEO. Bret Connor works with Paul Brient - EVP, Chief Product Officer, William J Conway - EVP, Chief Sales Officer, and Karl Salnoske - SVP, Cloud Engineering & Operations.
