Ines Gasmi

Project Expert at Atheneum

Ines Gasmi has diverse work experience in various organizations. In 2014, they started working at the Institut National Agronomique de Tunisie, where they earned a PhD in Agricultural Sciences with a focus on Desertification, Environment, and Climate Change. Ines worked there until July 2020.

In 2019, they joined the Center for Mediterranean Integration (CMI) as a Water Consultant, contributing their expertise to the organization's water program. In July 2021, they took on the role of Project Officer in the same program.

In the same year, they also became a Next Einstein Forum Ambassador to Tunisia at the Next Einstein Forum (NEF).

Prior to these roles, Ines worked as a Project Expert at Atheneum in September 2019.

Ines Gasmi's education history begins in 2010 when they enrolled at the Institut National Agronomique de Tunis - Institut des Regions Arides. Ines completed their Master's Degree in Combating desertification & sustainable management of natural resources in arid regions in 2013. In 2014, Ines pursued further studies and obtained a Master's degree in Integrated Drylands Management from The United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health. From 2014 to 2020, Ines pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at the Institut National Agronomique de Tunis - Institut des Regions Arides, specializing in Desertification, environment, and climate change.

In addition to their academic degrees, Ines has obtained several certifications. In April 2019, they obtained the SDG Policy Support System certification from The United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment, and Health (UNU-INWEH). Ines also completed the SDG academy: Water: Addressing the Global Crisis certification from SIWI - Stockholm International Water Institute in the same month and year. Furthermore, Ines has a certification in Advanced modeling of water flow and contaminant transport in porous media using the HYDRUS and HP1 software packages, although the institution and specific date of obtaining this certification are not provided.
