Mike Hale

Mike Hale has extensive experience in the field of biometrics and data management. Mike is currently serving as the VP and Head of Biometrics & Data Management at Athira Pharma since June 2022. Prior to that, they were the Managing Owner of Hale Scientific Statistics, LLC from April 2021 to July 2022.

Before starting their own company, Mike held significant leadership roles in various pharmaceutical companies. Mike worked at Takeda as the Vice-President and Chief Statistical Scientist from April 2019 to April 2021. Previously, they served as the Vice President and Head of Biostatistics and Programming at Shire from June 2016 to April 2021.

Their experience also includes the role of Global Head of Biometrics at Baxalta from March 2015 to June 2016, and Executive Director of Biostatistics at Amgen from September 2004 to December 2014. Mike also held positions at GlaxoSmithKline as a Group Director from September 1998 to September 2004, and at Roche Pharmaceuticals as a Research Director from February 1995 to September 1998.

Mike started their career at Syntex as a Research Section Leader from September 1990 to February 1995, and at Monsanto as a Senior Research Specialist from September 1980 to September 1990. With their extensive experience in the field, Mike Hale brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their current role at Athira Pharma.

Mike Hale obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Oklahoma Christian University in the years 1970 to 1974. Mike then pursued a PhD in Mathematical Statistics from Iowa State University between 1974 and 1982.
