Sherif Reda

Sherif Reda, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in the field of biology and pharmaceutical research. Sherif is currently serving as the Associate Director, Discovery Biology at Athira Pharma since July 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Scientist II from January 2023 to July 2023 and as a Research Scientist III from January 2022 to December 2022 at the same company. In addition, Sherif worked as a Research Scientist at Athira Pharma from February 2021 to December 2021. Before joining Athira Pharma, they were a Scientist at PDX Pharmaceuticals from January 2020 to December 2020. Sherif also gained experience as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine for six months in 2019. Sherif began their research career as a Graduate Research Assistant at Washington State University Graduate School from August 2013 to June 2019.

Sherif Reda, Ph.D. holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Neuroscience, which they obtained from Washington State University between 2013 and 2019. Prior to their Ph.D., they completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Neuroscience from the same institution from 2011 to 2013. Sherif also holds another Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mathematics & Physics, which they earned from Washington State University between 2006 and 2011. Additionally, Sherif completed a certificate program called HMX Fundamentals/Pro online certificate program - Drug Development, Pharmacology Essentials from Harvard Medical School, which is expected to be completed in 2023. Sherif also obtained certification in WSU Entrepreneurship Skills & Knowledge Accelerator from Washington State University's Carson College of Business in 2018.
