Kelly Whitfield has a diverse work experience in the fields of history and cultural interpretation. From 2008 to present, they have been working at the Atlanta History Center, starting as a Staff Docent and Educator, where they conducted research and led group tours on various historical topics. Kelly then became the Smith Family Farm Manager, responsible for researching historical content and training docents. Currently, they serve as the Historic House Manager, where they develop content, performs as a living historian, and manages programs and interpretation. Additionally, in 2007, they interned at the Delta Heritage Museum, gaining experience in archives and collections.
Kelly Whitfield has a diverse education history. Kelly obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art, Ceramics, and Theater from Georgia State University, where they attended from 2005 to 2007. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2005, they studied Art and Theater at Kennesaw State University. Kelly completed their education by earning a Masters degree in Heritage Preservation-Public History from Georgia State University, where they were enrolled from 2008 to 2010. Before pursuing their Masters, they attended the University of West Georgia from 1999 to 2003, majoring in Art Education.
