Vice President of Digital Storytelling at Atlanta History Center

Kristian Weatherspoon has a diverse background in digital storytelling, communications, and media management. Kristian most recently served as the Vice President of Digital Storytelling at the Atlanta History Center starting in November 2020. Prior to that, they worked as the Digital Properties Manager for the Georgia Department of Public Health from January 2017 to November 2022. Kristian also has experience as an Adjunct Professor at Kennesaw State University from January 2017 to November 2020. Earlier in their career, they held various roles including Outreach and Education Manager at Georgia Watch, Communications Director at Mississippi Health Advocacy, Digital Media Specialist at Mississippi Public Broadcasting, and Digital Media Specialist at Public Broadcasting Atlanta. Additionally, they worked as a Freelance Field Producer at TV One.

Kristian Weatherspoon has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Journalism from Jackson State University, which was completed in 2008. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism at Northwestern University, which they completed in 2009.
