Christina McCormick

Director Of Learning Support at Atlanta International School

Christina McCormick has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Christina started in 2001 as a Teacher of Humanities and English at Marrara Christian School, where they also served as the Year Nine Co-ordinator. In 2003, they became a Literacy Tutor at Springboard for Children. From 2004 to 2009, they worked at Eaton House The Manor as a SENCO, where they planned an innovative SEN policy and provided support to children with specific learning difficulties. Christina then joined St Francis School as a Learning Support Teacher from 2009 to 2012, where they played a key role in redesigning the Learning Support policy. From 2012 to 2014, they worked at The Dragon School as a Learning Support Teacher, responsible for creating individualized learning programs for students with specific learning difficulties. From 2012 to 2015, they were also a Governor at Marsh Baldon C of E Primary School. From 2005 to 2017, they worked as an Educational Consultant and Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia) Specialist. Their most recent experience is at Cokethorpe School, where they were the Head of Learning Development from 2014 to 2018. Christina is currently the Head of Learning Support at Atlanta International School.

Christina McCormick has a Bachelor's degree in History with minors in French and Theology from Wheaton College, which they obtained from 1995 to 1998. In 1999 to 2000, they pursued a PGCE in Secondary History at the University of Oxford. In 2003 to 2004, they earned an OCR Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties with a focus on Dyslexia from Dyslexia Action (The Hornsby Institute). Most recently, from 2019 to 2020, they pursued a Certificate in School Leadership and Management with a field of study in Educational Leadership and Administration, General at Harvard Graduate School of Education.
