Rita Sheffey

Rita Sheffey currently serves as the Executive Director of the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, where leadership focuses on providing civil legal assistance to low-income individuals and removing barriers to justice. Previously, Rita worked as the Assistant Dean for Public Service at Emory University School of Law, motivating law students to engage in public service. Prior experience includes serving as a Partner at Hunton & Williams LLP, specializing in complex scientific litigation, and holding various roles, including Counsel and Associate at Dike, Bronstein, Roberts, Cushman & Pfund. Rita's academic background includes a PhD in Chemistry from Duke University and a JD from Boston College Law School, complemented by a Master's degree from Candler School of Theology.
