Richard Hatcher has a diverse work experience encompassing different roles and responsibilities. Richard started their career as a Carpenter/Contractor at Hatcher Contracting from 1985 to 1995. Richard then transitioned into the field of education, working as a Gifted Teacher at Atlanta Public Schools from 1995 to present. During this time, they were responsible for teaching gifted lessons, overseeing testing and eligibility processes, and running robotic programs. Richard also served as a Lead Gifted Teacher at Warren T. Jackson Elementary from 2012 to 2015. Additionally, they worked as a Robotic's Camp Director at MODA Atlanta in 2013, where they developed lesson plans, trained camp counselors, and managed day-to-day operations. Overall, Richard Hatcher has extensive experience in education, specializing in gifted teaching and robotics.
Richard Hatcher attended Rhodes College from 1976 to 1980, majoring in Anthropology. In 1993, they pursued a Bachelor of Education at Georgia State University, focusing on Early Childhood Education and Teaching, which they completed in 1995. After that, in 2005 and 2006, Richard pursued a Master of Science degree in Geo-Science at Mississippi State University, with a thesis on the Atlanta area and a field study in the Snake River Catchment Area. Richard graduated from Mississippi State University with Suma Cum Laude honors.
