Jasmine Cooper is currently the Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at the ATLANTIC COUNCIL OF THE UNITED STATES. Prior to this, they were the Sr. Manager of Diversity, Inclusion & Corporate Social Responsibility at Steptoe & Johnson LLP from January 2017 through December 2020.

In their previous role, Jasmine was responsible for equipping Firm leadership with the foundation to understand diversity and inclusion through focused conversations addressing organizational values, culture, strategies, policies and procedures. Jasmine also advised Firm leadership on using equity to advance diverse, and women lawyers and provided training for Firm hiring chairs and Recruitment Committee on eliminating unconscious bias through best practices for interviewing and evaluating diverse candidates. Additionally, Jasmine worked closely with Business Development leadership to leverage opportunities to create diverse lawyer teams for clients.

Jasmine also synthesized the Firm's diversity statistics to establish trends and analyze areas of growth. Furthermore, they were responsible for administering the D&I budget and managing funding requests. Lastly, Jasmine supported the Firm's affinity groups (ERGs) by meeting with group leaders to develop goals, plan events and programs, and attract new members.

In terms of increasing D&I’s profile, Jasmine created a sponsorship program focused on diverse and women lawyers, facilitated unconscious bias training and gender-focused leadership training, formalized D&I committee’s structure and organizational goals, established monthly diversity programming including launching Pride, Black

Jasmine Cooper received their Bachelor of Science in Communication from the University of Maryland.

Jasmine Cooper reports to Kadiatou Cesaire, VP, Global Human Resources & Talent Development. They are on a team with Jessica Pointer - Deputy Director, Talent Acquisition & Development, Adnana Korkutovic - Deputy Director, Global Human Resources & Total Rewards, and Léa Filali - Human Resources Specialist, Talent Management.
