Prof. Dr. Alexander V. Mirtchev is a distinguished academic and policy expert currently serving as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University since January 2015. Mirtchev holds multiple influential roles at the Atlantic Council, including Vice Chair and member of the Board of Directors, while also being part of the Kissinger Institute on China and the United States. As an author, Mirtchev published "The Prologue: The Alternative Energy Megatrend in the Age of Great Power Competition," which explores the intersection of alternative energy and national security. Mirtchev's involvement extends to the James Madison Council of the Library of Congress and the Hellenistic Tanagra Figurines Educational Initiative. In addition, Mirtchev is President of Krull+, a geopolitical consultancy, and has held senior positions at the Wilson Center and the Royal United Services Institute. Mirtchev's academic qualifications include a Master of Laws from The George Washington University Law School and a PhD from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.
