Sarah Hamang is the Deputy Director of Development Operations at the Atlantic Council of the United States. Sarah has over eight years of experience in the philanthropy and nonprofit sectors, with a focus on operations and fundraising.
Sarah began their career as an intern with the Arthritis Foundation, where they assisted with special events. Sarah then went on to work as the Interim Grants Administrator for Ivy Tech Community College, where they managed grant projects and researched new opportunities.
In 2013, Sarah joined The Nature Conservancy as the Development Operations Manager for the Maryland/DC chapter. In this role, they oversaw all aspects of the chapter's fundraising operations, including their $70M comprehensive campaign. Sarah was responsible for developing and implementing plans to solicit donors, assigning fundraisers to suspects, and leading all campaign and fundraising reporting.
Sarah has been with the Atlantic Council of the United States since October 2021, where they serve as the Deputy Director of Development Operations. In this role, they manage the day-to-day development operations for the organization, including donor relations, stewardship, and prospect research.
Sarah Hamang has earned a Master of Arts in Philanthropic Studies and a Master of Public Affairs in Nonprofit Management from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis. Sarah also holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs with a focus in Nonprofit Management from the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Sarah is certified in CPR/AED/First Aid from the American Red Cross.
