James Maguire

James Maguire has a diverse work experience spanning over 19 years. James is currently the Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer at Atlas Healthcare Partners since September 2019. Prior to that, they worked at Aetna as the Director of Compliance from September 2016 to September 2019. In this role, they were responsible for promoting and enforcing compliance with state/federal laws and regulations, managing market conduct, and other regulatory exams and inquiries.

Before Aetna, James worked as a Management Intern/Post-Graduate Intern at Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) from June 2015 to September 2016. James also served as a Quality Analyst/Risk Management RN at Abrazo Community Health Network from July 2014 to June 2015.

James has extensive experience in the healthcare sector, particularly in nursing. James worked as a Clinical Lead RN and Preceptor RN at Dignity Health's Barrow's Neurological Institute from 2003 to 2013. Prior to that, they were a Supervisor of Long-Term Acute Care at Select Specialty Hospital from 2002 to 2003, and a Staff RN in Cardiac Intensive Care and Cardiac Telemetry at Banner Health from 2000 to 2002.

James Maguire began their education journey in 1997 at Quincy College, where they pursued an Associate's Degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. James completed this program in 1999. In 2010, Maguire enrolled at Grand Canyon University, where they studied Registered Nursing, Nursing Administration, Nursing Research, and Clinical Nursing. James successfully obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2012. Continuing their education, Maguire attended Arizona State University from 2014 to 2016, where they specialized in Law, particularly Health Care Law, and earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree. In addition to their formal education, Maguire holds several certifications in the medical field, including a Certified Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Program from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association, obtained in December 2000. James also attained a Certified BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED program) from the same institution in December 2000. Furthermore, Maguire completed the Certified Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses program offered by the Society of Trauma Nurses in August 2008. Lastly, they became a Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse through the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing in November 2006.
