Hugo Watanabe

Hugo Watanabe has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy industry. Hugo started their career in 2007 as a Consultant and auditor at BC Consult, where they implemented various management systems such as ISO9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS18001, HACCP, GMP+ B2. Hugo also conducted audits, provided internal auditor training, and performed analysis and problem-solving activities. Hugo Watanabe was a lead auditor for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 at BC Consult.

In 2017, Hugo Watanabe joined GE Renewable Energy as the Quality & EHS Logistics Latam Leader. Hugo held this role until February 2023, during which they were responsible for ensuring quality and environmental health and safety standards in logistics operations throughout Latin America.

Starting in February 2023, Hugo Watanabe will be working at Atlas Renewable Energy as the Health & Safety Manager.

Hugo Watanabe has a comprehensive education history that spans over several years. Hugo completed their Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, which they attended from 2000 to 2005. In 2015 to 2016, they pursued further studies at Centro Universitário Facens and obtained a degree in Work Safety Engineering, with a focus on Work Safety and Occupational Hygiene.

Aside from their formal education, Hugo has also obtained several certifications. In 2021, they earned certifications in "Problem Solving Techniques," "Como Lidar com o Estresse no Trabalho" (How to Deal with Work Stress), "Como Quebrar a Rotina para Estimular a Criatividade" (How to Break the Routine to Stimulate Creativity), "Fundamentos do Lean Seis Sigma" (Lean Six Sigma Fundamentals), and "Wind Energy." Hugo acquired a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from MF Treinamentos in 2021 as well.

In 2015, Hugo attained a Lead Assessor ISO 9001 2015 certification from Fundação Vanzolini. Prior to that, in 2014, they received training in "Treinamento de harmonização, atualização da 17021/2, 17021/3" (Harmonization Training, Updating 17021/2, 17021/3), "Reciclagem e integração de novos auditores" (Recycling and Integration of New Auditors), and "Atualização requisitos da ISO/IEC - TS 17021 - parte 2" (ISO/IEC - TS 17021 - Part 2 Updating Requirements) from Fundação Vanzolini. Hugo also underwent training in "Perícia judicial" (Judicial Expertise) from CONPEJ in 2014 and "QSB+ GM Trilhas de auditoria" (QSB+ GM Audit Trails) from Interaction Plexus in 2014.

Additionally, Hugo has certifications in Lead Assessor ISO 14001 2004 from SGS in 2011, Internal Assessor OHSAS 18001 2007 from BC Consult in 2009, and Lead Assessor ISO 9001 2008 from MCG Managing Consulting Group in 2009. These certifications demonstrate their expertise and knowledge in different areas related to engineering, work safety, and auditing.
