Arun Velagapalli

Arun Velagapalli is a highly experienced Senior Principal Architect at Atlassian, focusing on distributed systems and cryptography since August 2023. Previously, Arun served as Principal Security Engineer at Robinhood from October 2021 to August 2023, where responsibilities included establishing a new security team for crypto asset protection and monitoring systems. In earlier roles, Arun functioned as Principal Security Architect at Robinhood, where key management for cold custody systems was a primary focus, and at Snowflake, where risk assessment and automation of customer accounts were key tasks. As Vice President of Information Security at PolySign, Inc., Arun collaborated with various departments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and designed security architectures for cloud and on-prem services. Additional experience includes work at Kabbage, Inc. in security architecture for cloud applications. Arun holds a PhD in Computer Science Engineering and a Master's degree in Computer Science, both from Mississippi State University.
