Robert W. Best is the current Director at Atmos Energy. Prior to their current position, Best served as an Automation Technician at Witron Integrated Logistics Co from October 2012 to March 2013 where they maintained, repaired, and supported automated equipment in a large factory environment. Best gained experience in electromechanical based equipment during their time at Witron.
Before working at Witron, Best served in the US Navy from June 2005 to September 2012 as a member of the 38N nuclear repair. Robert performed various activities, from repairing nuclear level valves to complex radioactive discharge, to support shipboard nuclear reactors aboard Trident submarines. Best also maintained nuclear qualifications RADCON in order to operate within radiation areas, glove bags, and reactor compartments. Robert was qualified mixed waste to support generation, handling, and processing of radioactive materials.
Robert W. Best has a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science and Technology from Thomas Edison State University, a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Energy Engineering Technology from Thomas Edison State University, a Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Industrial Management from Arizona State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from DeVry University. Robert is also nuclear qualified as a Nuclear Propulsion Plant Operator-Mechanical from the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command and Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit.
