Matias Kaplan

Founding Scientist at Atomic AI

Matias Kaplan is the Founding Scientist at Atomic AI. Matias received their PhD from Stanford University, where they worked in Christina Smolke's Laboratory on ligand binding RNAs. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Scientist at Caribou Biosciences, developing novel CRISPR/Cas9 applications using strucutrally driven protein design. Matias also worked as an HHMI Summer Researcher at the Doudna Lab, monitoring arbovirus circulation in South America. Matias has also conducted research at Universidad Nacional de Cordoba - Institute of Virology and the University of Florida - McKenna Lab.

Matias Kaplan has a Master of Science in Bioengineering from Stanford University, a Stanford Ignite Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and a degree in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from the University of Florida.

Matias Kaplan works with Tarun Gogineni - Founding Scientist, April Schleck - Founding Engineer, and Adrian Sanborn - Founding Scientist & Bioscience Lead. Their manager is Raphael Townshend, Founder & CEO.
