Chief Compliance Officer at Atomic

Tom Shpetner is the current Chief Compliance Officer at Atomic. Tom has over 10 years of experience in compliance, including previous positions as Managing Director, U.S. Chief Compliance Officer at ITG and Director, Bank Compliance and Regulatory Inquiries at the Royal Bank of Canada. In these roles, Tom implemented company practices supporting regulatory relationship management and robust compliance and governance policies. Tom is an expert in Regulation ATS, cross-border trading activity, access controls, data privacy, market structure, regulatory inquiry, conflict resolution, and examination management. Tom also served on the Global Risk Committee and as co-chair. In March 2019, ITG was acquired by Virtu Financial, Inc.

Most recently, Tom was employed at Global Shares where they served as Compliance Officer. In this role, they were responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. In addition to their work in compliance, Tom also served on The NYC Environmental Control Board - a judiciary tribunal that holds hearings for violations issued across several city agencies. The DOB, FDNY, Department of Sanitation, DOHMH, and many more regulatory agencies issue violations held in conjunction with ECB hearings.

Tom Shpetner received their Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. Tom then went on to earn their JD from Brooklyn Law School.

They work with Josephine van Leeuwen - Strategy & Operations, Brian Ng - Finance, and Aaron Weinstein - Chief Of Staff. Tom Shpetner reports to David Dindi, Co-Founder & CEO.
