Svetoslav Sash Bratovanov has extensive experience in the field of process chemistry and synthetic organic chemistry for the pharmaceutical industry. Svetoslav Sash currently serves as the Lead Radiopharmaceutical Technology at AtomVie Global Radiopharma Inc. Svetoslav Sash previously worked as a Senior Process Chemist at the Center for Probe Development and Commercialization, McMaster University from 2018 to 2021. Prior to that, they held the same position at Apotex Pharmachem Inc. for over 15 years and excelled in providing business value through innovative integration of new ideas in process development. Svetoslav Sash also has experience as a Research Scientist at MCR Research Inc. (now NeurAxon, Inc) where they synthesized selective neuronal NOS inhibitors and developed novel carbohydrate-based libraries. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Research Associate at the Institute of Organic Chemistry with Centre of Phytochemistry, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, where they developed new methodology and collaborated on commercial production projects.

Svetoslav Sash Bratovanov has an extensive education history in the field of chemistry and chemical engineering. Starting from 1987 to 1992, they studied at the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy (UCTM) in Sofia, Bulgaria, where they obtained a Diploma of Chemical Engineering. After their undergraduate studies, Bratovanov pursued higher education in Switzerland, where they attended the University of Zurich from 1994 to 1997. Svetoslav Sash successfully completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organic Chemistry/Synthesis during this time. Following their studies in Switzerland, Bratovanov engaged in postdoctoral research at the University of Cape Town in South Africa from 1997 to 1998, focusing on Organic Synthesis. Svetoslav Sash later continued their postdoctoral studies at York University in Toronto, Canada from 1998 to 2001, further specializing in Organic Synthesis.
