Dr Ruth Anderson has a diverse and extensive work experience in sports psychology and leadership roles. Dr Ruth is currently serving as the Director Player Well-being at ATP Tour since October 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Sport Psychologist at Tennis Australia from January 2021 to December 2022. Dr Ruth also held the position of CEO at MiND HQ Pty Ltd from January 2010 to November 2022. In addition, they served as the Director of Psychology & Performance Behaviours at AusCycling from June 2018 to May 2022 and as the Lead Performance Psychologist at British Cycling from June 2015 to June 2018. Before that, they worked as a Sport Psychologist at Tennis Australia from January 2009 to June 2015. Dr Anderson also has experience working with the Australian Institute of Sport as a Senior Sport Psychologist from January 2005 to January 2013, where they provided sport psychology services to high performance sport programs and managed the National Athlete Counselling Service. Dr Ruth also served as the Head of Psychology Services for the Australian Olympic Team from 2008 to 2012. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Senior Psychologist at Gold Coast Hospital from January 2003 to December 2004 and as a Team Leader at Harrison Community Services from June 2001 to December 2002.
Dr Ruth Anderson earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Sport Psychology from The University of Queensland in 2017. Dr Ruth previously completed a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Psychology at Australian Catholic University. Dr Ruth also holds a Master of Psychology (Sport & Exercise) degree in Sport Psychology from The University of Queensland. Additionally, they obtained a Diploma of Frontline Management from Box Hill Institute.
