Edgar Israel Castillo Hernández

Edgar Israel Castillo Hernández has a diverse range of work experience in the financial sector. Edgar Israel began their career at BBVA, where they worked for two decades and gained extensive knowledge of risk administration. During their time at BBVA, Edgar was involved in various projects, including the development of an Analytics team.

After leaving BBVA, Edgar took on the role of VP of Risk & Analytics at Kueski, where they led teams in risk management, machine learning model development, policy formulation, and collection strategies. Edgar Israel also participated in strategic decision-making as a member of the executive team.

Following their tenure at Kueski, Edgar worked as an independent senior consultant, supporting financial companies in areas such as credit risk KPIs, collection strategies, and credit approval processes.

Edgar then transitioned to the role of Chief Risk Officer at Creze, a leading fintech company focused on SMEs. In this position, they were responsible for risk management, credit analysis, business insight, and data science.

Next, Edgar joined Bankaya as Chief Risk Officer, where they contributed to the development of one of the first digital banks in Mexico. Edgar Israel played a key role in empowering individuals with financial and digital freedom.

Later, Edgar served as Chief Data & Risk Officer at Crediclub, defining and implementing the company's strategy in risk management, data engineering, and advanced analytics.

Edgar's most recent role was at Atrato, where they held the position of Chief Data & Risk Officer. In this role, they led a team of five departments and focused on areas such as credit risk, operational risk, market risk, liquidity risk, and overall company strategy.

Additionally, Edgar has served as an investor and advisor at Atrato and Bankaya.

Throughout their career, Edgar has accumulated a wealth of experience in risk management, data analytics, and strategic decision-making. Edgar Israel has worked with both traditional financial institutions and innovative fintech companies, showcasing their adaptability and expertise in the industry.

Edgar Israel Castillo Hernández obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, where they studied from 1990 to 1995. Afterwards, they pursued further education and is currently enrolled at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where they are working towards a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science. In addition to their formal education, Edgar has obtained certifications in Python Data Analysis, Python Data Representations, and Python Programming Essentials from Coursera. Edgar Israel obtained these certifications in March, April, and May of 2018, respectively.
