Susanna Kankaanpää has a diverse work experience in the food industry. Susanna started their career in 2000 as a Food Processing Worker at Atria Plc and worked there until 2001. In 2004, they briefly worked as a Trainer in Research and Laboratory at the National Veterinary and Food Research Institute, Finland (EELA). Susanna then returned to Atria Plc in 2005 and held various roles, including IT Project Worker, Production Foreman, and Product Developer in the Ready Meals, Consumer Packed Meat, and Subcontracting departments. Their experience in the Ready Meals department involved projects related to mayonnaise salads, grated salads, and cold process mayonnaises. Their tenure at Atria Plc lasted until 2022.

Susanna Kankaanpää's education history begins with their completion of the Finnish Matriculation Examination at Seinäjoki High School from 1997 to 2000. Susanna then pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Bio and Food Technology at Seinäjoki University Of Applied Sciences from 2001 to 2005. After a gap in the timeline, they obtained a Diploma in Product Development from Aalto University in 2011. Susanna Kankaanpää's educational journey continued as they pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Food Chain Development from SeAMK - Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences, starting in 2019 and expected to graduate in 2022.
