Carnell Jermaine Hampton, PhD, FAAPM, has extensive experience in medical physics and leadership within the field of radiation oncology. Currently serving as Assistant Vice President of Physics at Atrium Health since September 2012, Hampton oversees multiple physics teams and guides radiation oncology programs across several centers in North and South Carolina. Previously, Hampton held roles as Chief Medical Physicist at CHS Northeast and as a Medical Physicist at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where contributions included quality assurance in radiation therapy and engaging in clinical research on radiation delivery. Hampton's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Wake Forest University and a BS in Physics from South Carolina State University.
