Lucy Thompson Dean

Lucy Thompson Dean has extensive work experience in various fields. Lucy began their career in 1997 as the Director of Communications and Marketing at the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce. Lucy then moved on to become the Associate Vice President and General Manager at Carter Ryley Thomas Public Relations and Marketing in 2000. In 2006, Lucy joined Novant Health as a Registered Dietitian in the Cancer Center. Lucy then transitioned to Carolinas HealthCare System in 2007, where they served as the Assistant Vice President for CHS LiveWELL until 2013. From 2013 until 2021, Lucy held the position of Assistant Vice President of Human Resources at Carolinas Healthcare System. Currently, they are the Vice President of Human Resources, Teammate Communication, and Recognition at Atrium Health, starting in March 2021.

Lucy Thompson Dean holds a BA in Journalism/Mass Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which they obtained between 1985 and 1989. Lucy also has an MS in Human Nutrition from Winthrop University, although the dates for this degree are not specified. Additionally, Lucy has obtained several certifications including HeartMath Instructor, LDN (issued by the North Carolina Board of Dietetics/Nutrition), QuitSmart Instructor, and Registered Dietitian (accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics).
