Michael Grunwald

Michael Grunwald serves as the Chief of the Leukemia Division and Director of the Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Program at Atrium Health, where career tenure began in July 2013. Additionally, Michael holds various academic titles, including Associate Professor and Associate Director of the Leukemia Division, and previously served as an Assistant Professor and Acute Leukemia Specialist. Since July 2022, Michael is also a Professor at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. In March 2020, Michael established Michael Richard Grunwald Consulting LLC to provide healthcare consulting focused on oncology care delivery. Prior to these roles, Michael was the Assistant Chief of Service at Johns Hopkins Medicine and completed a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology, as well as an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where the M.D. was earned. Michael also holds an A.B. degree from Harvard University.
