David Wheeler, CHAE has extensive work experience in the hospitality industry. David currently holds the position of Regional Vice President of Finance at Atrium Hospitality, starting in August 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Financial Officer at Our Town Hospitality from June 2020 to August 2022. David also worked as the Regional Director of Finance at Atrium Hospitality from October 2016 to June 2020. Before joining Atrium Hospitality, they were a Hotel Finance Executive and later the Complex Director of Finance at HEI Hotels & Resorts. In addition, they worked as the Chief Financial Officer on a contract basis for Hotel Syracuse Restoration. Earlier in their career, they held positions such as Regional Director of Finance at Interstate Hotels & Resorts, Owner/Operator of Wise Guys Comedy Club and Bistro, Director of Finance at Highgate, and Finance Officer at Pyramid Management Group. David Wheeler has displayed a diverse skill set in accounting, finance management, and strong industry knowledge through their various roles in different organizations.
David Wheeler, CHAE, obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Accounting and Finance from the State University of New York at Oswego, where they studied from 1990 to 1993. Prior to that, they earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) in Accounting and Finance from Onondaga Community College, where they attended from 1988 to 1990. In April 2019, they obtained the Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE) certification from the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®).
