Controls Engineering Team Lead - Life Sciences Division at ATS Automation

Blair Snell has extensive experience in the field of controls engineering. They are currently working as the Controls Engineering Team Lead in the Life Sciences Division at ATS Automation since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Linamar - IHUB from September 2019 to October 2021, where they played a key role in the Linamar "Factory of the Future" project, programming and designing automation for lights out operation. They also developed a robot coordinates offset process using a laser and programmed a Clearpath autonomous AMR.

Before Linamar - IHUB, Blair worked at Linamar - The Center from July 2012 to October 2019 as a Controls Engineer in the Advanced Systems Group. Here, they performed Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programming for custom industrial machines and troubleshooted robotic material handling systems. They also programmed vision-based thread checking systems using Cognex Checker cameras.

Prior to their time at Linamar, Blair was an Automation Specialist at Stackpole International from July 2009 to July 2012. In this role, they negotiated contracts with automated equipment suppliers and analyzed robot and machining center cycle times for throughput improvements.

Earlier in their career, Blair worked as a Controls Programmer at Systematix Inc from February 2004 to June 2009 and as a Controls Designer at JCD Robotics from June 2001 to February 2004.

Blair's work experience began in 1999 as a Process Technician at Guardian Fiberglass from May 1999 to August 1999.

Blair Snell attended Sir Sandford Fleming College from 1998 to 2001, studying Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology. Prior to that, there is no available information about their education history, but they are believed to have attended Erin District High School.
