Shannon Smith has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Starting in 2005, they worked at Putzmeister America as an E-Commerce Business Analyst/Warranty Administrator. In 2008, they interned at the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, assisting agents with administrative work and providing training on substance abuse. Shannon also had contractual work with CopNet, providing narcotics training throughout Oklahoma. In 2009, they joined the United States Attorney's Office as a contractor, where they handled case files and prepared shipments for storage. From 2009 to 2014, Shannon worked at BG Products, Inc. as an Accounting Managing Specialist. Then, from 2014 to 2016, they served as a Processing Manager at Forcepoint LLC. In 2017, they joined AlienVault as a Training Operations Manager, and in 2018, they became the Lead of Training Operations at AT&T Cybersecurity.

Shannon Smith's education history includes obtaining a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Oklahoma City University in 2009. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology and Theology at Oklahoma City University in 2008.

Before entering university, Shannon attended the College of Lake County from 1997 to 1999, where they earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) degree in General Studies. Shannon also graduated from Antioch Community High School in 1999 with a High School Diploma.

In addition to their formal education, Shannon has obtained several certifications.
